Gregory Z35-R Ventilated Backpack
The Gregory Z35-R backpack cuts weight and complexity by sporting a roll top style main access. Great for times when you need more options and capacity than your typical daypack. With a max capacity of 40 litres, this is the smallest ventilated backpack for men in Gregory’s backpacking range i.e. packs built with the ‘Jetstream LTS’ suspension frame. Even smaller ventilated packs are available in the hiking range which incorporate ‘Crossflow DTS’ suspension for lighter loads. Whichever one is more suitable for you, these Z range gregory backpacks will keep you cool on the trail. Amazingly, the Z35-R still manages to pack in an expandable front bucket pocket, dual hydration ports and sleeve, dual axe/tool attachment points with secure carry-under compression flaps, tubular webbing ski loops and moisture wicking harness and waistbelt.

Billed as Gregory’s smallest ventilated camping backpack because even though smaller ventilated models do exist, they are built on the lightweight Crossflow DTS internal suspension frame more suitable for easy-going hiking trips.
The Z35-R on the other hand, uses Jetstream DTS technology meaning that the weight of your gear rests directly on the framesheet while the Aerotech Mesh backpanel allows for airflow across your back.
Its carries more than 30lbs and still weighs less than 4lbs. Wide and well padded shoulder straps and waistbelt make for comfortable load-bearing.
Roll-top closure make take some getting used to but makes for neat and quick pack access.
Gregory Serrac 35 Hiking Backpack
The Serrac 35 Gregory backpack is just as comfortable on an extended day hike as it is hauling your stuff around for a weekend getaway. The full side zipper access allows you to either open up the entire bag from top to bottom or just a section of the pack duffle style, making it easy to access everything loaded inside.

Available in colors Currant red, Midnight blue and Iron gray this pack features an auto-fit harness system, top pocket with key clip and a second stash compartment on underside, single axe/ tool attachment point and is constructed of durable and tough 210D double diamond ripstop and 330D nylon oxford flatweave. Note that this pack is not the same as the Z35-R which features Jetstream suspension and is the ‘backpacking/ camping’ offering from Gregory in this size range.

Specially designed with a lightweight ventilation suspension frame for casual hiking and 1-2 day trips, this pack is lighter than the similary sized Z-35R gregory backpack which is more appropriate for longer camping type escapades.
Its substantially wide and thick waistbelt combined with lumbar pad and dual stays ensures load is transferred smoothly to the hips making for less burden on the rest of the body. Use it for climbing day trips, weekend backpacking and iceclimbing.
Amazing ventilation design allows back to be exposed to cooling air flow yet does not throw centre of gravity out of balance. An excellent backpack that carries over 30lbs comfortably in a pack that weighs just over 3lbs!
The removable rain cover is an excellent addition that is especially welcome when a storm or drizzle hits you when you are not otherwise prepared.
